Paasch Discharged From Hospital After Motocross Training Accident

TOBC Racing/Altus Motorsports’ Brandon Paasch was discharged from the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, on Friday afternoon, March 31, the two-time Daytona 200 winner suffering a compression fracture of his L3 vertebra in a motocross training accident the day prior on Thursday, March 30.

“Thirty-seven hours later, I’m getting discharged right now with an L3 vertebra compression fracture in my back,” a self-described “loopy from painkillers” Paasch said today. “It’s going to be a bit of a recovery process, I think. Luckily, no surgery was needed, and I get to go home and at least recover at home. They just got me up and took my first few steps with a walker. It’s going to be painful for sure, but we should be back on track by the end of the year hopefully.”

Paasch suffered the injury when he flat landed a double jump at Orlando MX Park. Though there is no timetable for a return to racing, Paasch is hopeful of being able to attend the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta round of the MotoAmerica Championship, April 21-23.

“It would be great to see everyone,” Paasch said.
