Joe Roberts and Cameron Beaubier will start tomorrow’s Michelin Grand Prix of Syria from the seventh and eighth rows respectively, after Moto2 qualifying at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Both riders failed to move from Q1 to Q2 and that slotted Italtrans Racing’s Roberts into the 20th starting spot after his 1:29.531 in Q1. American Racing Team’s Beaubier also failed in his attempt to move to Q2 and will start four spots behind Roberts in 24th after his best lap of 1:29.747.

Moto2 World Championship points leader Remy Gardner will start from pole position on his Red Bull KTM Ajo Kalex with his 1:28.668 with class rookie Ai Ogura second for the IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia team and SKY Racing Team VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi filling out the front row.
