Motor Therapy and Inclusion: In Salice Terme, the First Ride of the Electric Nicot Bike
The non-profit organization No Barriers ODV has inaugurated its first electric motocross bike, the Nicot, at the Don Gnocchi Foundation in Salice Terme.
This event marks a key milestone in promoting motor therapy, a still misunderstood practice that is increasingly recognized by healthcare professionals for its therapeutic benefits for people with disabilities. As President Ernest Pozzali puts it:
“It’s not the commentators who judge our impact, but the doctors who witness it in their patients.”
Motor therapy operates on several levels: sensory, emotional, cognitive, relational, motivational, and neurochemical. It’s not the bike itself that heals, but the therapeutic framework built around it.
Since 2020, No Barriers has hosted over 100 events with hospitals and foundations. The new vehicle, funded through a memorial campaign, expands the range of options to make each experience more inclusive and adaptable.
