Women Automotive Network launches its first Summit in North America
After five years of online and European events, the Women Automotive Network is hosting its first Women Automotive Summit Detroit, held on 4th June at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI.
The Network has built a dynamic community within the United States and is now bringing together this community of women and their allies in Detroit for a day of celebration, inspiration and networking.
In the words of recent European Summit attendee: “It’s hard to describe in words the special kind of energy and vibe that was there right from the start entering the conference area.”; and as Stephanie May, Commercial Director of the Network said: “Let’s see what we can do together in Detroit!”
Automotive professionals are invited to get inspired by the Network’s lineup of influential speakers who are driving the automotive industry forward, including a vast array of keynote speakers, including Claudia Marquez, COO, Genesis Motor North America; Sabrina Yuan, VP Strategy and Business Development Company, Cariad Inc. – a Volkswagen Group Company; and Ashwini Balasubramanian, General Manager – Advanced Engineering, Harley-Davidson Motor Company I President, Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation.
There will also be a number of interactive workshops led by well-known industry powerhouses, enabling attendees to participate in hands-on sessions on topics such as: ‘Changing Gears: Strategies for Women to Lead with Confidence in the Auto Industry’; ‘How to Prevent the Extinction of Automotive Brand Loyalty & Increase Customer Retention’; and ‘10 Easy Steps to Beat Performance Review Bias’.
The Network is partnering with WardsAuto and AutoTech Detroit for the Awards Ceremony. Applications for the Network’s two categories (below) can be submitted here until March 1st.

The Network’s Summits have already proved immensely popular throughout Europe, as the industry continues to unite with one common goal centred around inclusion, with a member from Subaru commenting: “We’ve made many advancements as women in a corporate world, yet the automotive industry has seen slower growth. It is our obligation as a cohort to continue pushing for equity and opportunities to shape and attract the next wave of female leaders.”
