Roberts Second, Beaubier Ninth On Day 2 Of Moto2 Test In Portugal

Cameron Beaubier ended up ninth fastest on the second day of the two-day Moto2 test in Portugal.

Americans Joe Roberts and Cameron Beaubier ended a successful two-day test in Portugal today with the former MotoAmerica Champions ending day two of the preseason test second and ninth on the timesheets, respectively, on a windy day at the Portimao Circuit.

The test was led by Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Remy Gardner, the Australian the only rider to dip into the 1:42s with his 1:42.962. That was .382 of a second quicker than Roberts, the 2015 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Champion riding the Italtrans Racing Team Kalex last ridden by 2020 Moto2 World Champion Enea Bastianini. Roberts improved by .127 of a second over his best from yesterday.

Speed Up Racing’s Jorge Navarro ended up third on the second day of the test.

Five-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Beaubier completed his two-day test ninth on the timesheets, the Californian improving by .764 of a second on the American Racing Team’s Kalex to move ahead of his teammate Marcos Ramirez on the day. Ramirez, however, went quicker on the opening day on Tuesday.

Beaubier’s best lap was 1.079 seconds slower than Gardner’s quick lap.
