Jake Lewis won six races en route to winning the 2021 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship (and the MotoAmerica Superbike Cup) on his Altus Motorsports Suzuki and his performance has paid off with a full-time return to the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike series on the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team for 2022. Lewis got the call late in 2020 to ride for Altus in 2021, got himself off the couch and back into training, showed up and finished fourth in the first two races at Road Atlanta, then won his first race of the season in the next round at VIRginia International Raceway. From there he marched to the title with five more victories and a total of nine podiums. He also competed in the Superbike Cup and collected the $25,000 check for winning that as well. We caught up with Lewis to talk about his rejuvenated career and his return to the Superbike class on a full-on Superbike in this week’s Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
