Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 Announced
The long-awaited Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 has been announced. The company says that the new will be available globally in January 2026.
The Anakee Adventure 2 is a 80% road / 20% off-road tire and will sit between the Anakee Road and the 50/50 Anakee Wild in the company’s lineup. In other words, the new tyre is designed for casual dirt riders seeking road performance and longevity. According to Michelin, there are several important changes including new silica‑based compounds designed to improve wet‑weather grip, while internal testing showed an increase in mileage of approximately 7% at the front and 21% at the rear compared to the previous Anakee Adventure.
Michelin also focused on noise reduction was another development target. As a result, Michelin states that the revised construction and tread pattern produce lower perceived noise levels, which may translate to less rider fatigue on longer pavement stretches. The tire carries an M+S rating and features a tread layout intended to maintain traction on unpaved surfaces, keeping it around the 80/20 to 70/30 on‑road/off‑road category commonly used for adventure‑touring tires, says Michelin.
Key changes:
- Enhanced wet-grip, thanks to new high-performance silica-based compounds.
- Improved longevity: +7% at the front and +21% at the rear* compared with the previous generation.
- Significant reduction in perceived noise for smoother, less tiring journeys.
- M+S marking and optimized tread pattern for more effective traction on trails.
The construction incorporates several of Michelin’s existing technologies, including a dual‑compound tread (harder center, softer shoulders), and a reinforced radial structure with aramid to improve stability and resistance to deformation under load. The tread pattern has also been redesigned with the goal of balancing road manners with predictable behavior on loose terrain.
Fitment covers most of the major adventure motorcycles on the market, including the BMW R1250/1300GS, Honda Africa Twin, Yamaha Tenere, Ducati Multistrada, Triumph Tiger, KTM Super Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom, Aprilia Tuareg, Moto Guzzi V85, Kawasaki Versys and many others.
