Jake Lewis To Fill In For Injured Supersport Rider Cory Ventura On Disrupt Racing GSX-R750

With the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship back in action this weekend at Road America, Team Saddlemen Harley-Davidson rider Jake Lewis is making his way to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. And, as was announced late last night, Lewis will be pulling double duty this weekend as he also races in the Supersort class aboard a Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R750.
Lewis will fill in for injured Disrupt Racing Supersport rider Cory Ventura for the remainder of the 2023 MotoAmerica season. Ventura suffered compound fractures of his tibia and fibula in a crash during the Supersport extended race at Barber Motorsports Park on the Saturday before last.
At six-foot, three inches tall, Lewis is one of the tallest riders in the MotoAmerica paddock, but he is also one of the most versatile. He won the 2021 Stock 1000 Championship aboard an Altus Motorsports GSX-R1000R and is also a former factory Suzuki Superbike rider. His most recent Supersport ride was in 2020 at Daytona aboard a BobbleHeadMoto Yamaha YZF-R6. Prior to that, Lewis finished as runner-up aboard a MotoSport.com/Meen Yamaha YZF-R6 in the 2014 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike Championship, which was an AMA-sanctioned middleweight race class that existed prior to the MotoAmerica era.
A statement on Disrupt Racing’s Facebook Page read “We are excited to have Jake Lewis join us for the remainder of the 2023 season to fill in for Cory (Ventura) while he gets healthy for 2024. Jake is undoubtedly a very talented rider and proven champion who’s seen great success across all of the championship classes. He also happens to be from Owensboro KY and fits perfectly into our program. We are blessed to have him join us and look forward to continuing the progress towards the top in the Supersport class on board our Suzuki GSX-R750.”
As was alluded to in the statement, Lewis will join fellow Kentuckian and close friend Hayden Gillim, who is Disrupt Racing’s Medallia Superbike and Steel Commander Stock 1000 rider.
