From his very first AMA professional road racing weekend in September 2011 at New Jersey Motorsports Park, when he raced a Graves Motorsports/Monster Energy/Yamaha YZF-R6 in the SuperSport class (earning the provisional pole, winning Saturday’s race one, and finishing runner-up in Sunday’s race two) to the season-concluding weekend of the 2022 FIM Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island Circuit in November just a few weeks ago when he raced a GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team YZF-R1 for the final time, Garrett Gerloff spent 11 years racing Yamaha motorcycles.
And, this week, as he begins a new chapter of his road racing career, joining the Bonovo Action BMW team in the Superbike World Championship aboard the brand-new 2023 BMW M 1000 RR and testing at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, Gerloff released a heartfelt video in which he looked back at his decade-long Yamaha career while also chronicling his final weekend in Australia with his GYTR GRT WorldSBK Team.
Check out the video, titled, “THE FINAL CHAPTER”:
An eleven-year career aboard Yamaha road racing motorcycles obviously meant a lot to Texan Garrett Gerloff, so he produced a video to chronicle his journey with the tuning-forks company.
