The pendulum that has been swinging back and forth as to where Danilo Petrucci will be racing in 2023 looks to have swung back to the World Superbike Championship with the Barni Spark Racing Team. At least according to a report today on the Italian website GPOne.com.

Petrucci, who is being courted by both the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC team for which he raced to second in the 2022 MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship and the Italian Barni team, may sign a contract with the Marco Barnabo-owned team as early as today, GPOne reports.

Petrucci won five races and earned podium finishes in 16 of the 20 MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike races in 2022 on a Ducati Panigale V4 R. He recently narrowed his two choices to a return to MotoAmerica or a switch to the World Superbike Championship with the Barni Spark Racing Team.

Barni fielded Australian Oli Bayliss, the son of Ducati legend Troy Bayliss, in the 2022 World Supersport Championship and Xavi Fores in the World Superbike Championship. Fores finished 19th in the 2023 World Superbike Championship.
