The following is from Yamaha…
Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Cameron Petersen, who injured his wrist during a recent team test, aims to line up this weekend for MotoAmerica Superbike Round 3 in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin
Petersen has been working on returning to full fitness after his crash last Monday at Barber Motorsports Park. While not back to 100%, he looks to join his teammate Jake Gagne on the grid at Road America. In the event that the South African has to withdraw from the third round of the championship, four-time Superbike Champion Josh Hayes will ride for the team in addition to continuing his title campaign in Supersport aboard the Squid Hunter Racing Yamaha YZF-R6.
Richard Stanboli – Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing Team Manager
“Cam injured his wrist at our test last week, but the plan is for him to ride this weekend at Road America. We asked Josh Hayes if he would be able to fill in for Cam just in case he had to withdraw, which will still give us the two-rider feedback that has helped us stay competitive. We thank Josh for being there to step in if we need him. We’re looking forward to the weekend. It should be some good racing for the cheesehead fans in Wisconsin.”

“It’s going to be interesting to see how the new surface feels, but I’m really excited to ride the R1 around this awesome track. Although I’m still working on getting back to 100% after my crash at the test, I’m feeling pretty good and looking to give it my all this weekend.”

“I’m thankful to be part of the Yamaha family and thankful that they trust me to ride the motorcycle. Cam is the priority here. The plan is for him to ride, and I hope he can race this weekend. My primary focus is the 600 and the Supersport title, but I’m happy to help the team if they need me because we are all a family.”
