The Prosecco DOC Czech Round of the 2022 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship got started today at the Autodrom Most, and former MotoAmerica Superbike riders Loris Baz and Garrett Gerloff both delivered top-ten results on the day.

GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team rider Gerloff went third-quickest in the morning’s first practice session, while Bonovo Action BMW’s Baz was 12th. The results flipped for the two riders in the afternoon’s Free Practice 2, with Baz moving up to fifth and Gerloff slipping to 10th. On combined times, Baz was ranked sixth and Gerloff was ninth.

“The morning started pretty well,” Gerloff said. “We made some changes and they worked out nicely. Unfortunately, I struggled a little bit more in the afternoon. We’ll try to understand why and do whatever we need to be quicker tomorrow. Of course, we have to consider the weather. It looks like it’s going to rain, so we should be careful with the track conditions.”

Baz and Gerloff will be back in action tomorrow, with Free Practice 3 at 9 a.m., Tissot Superpole at 11:10 a.m., and Race 1 at 2 p.m. All times local.
